For my scroll stoppers blog post today I want to explore one of my favorite antique items to collect. Take a step into our cozy kitchen and you’ll notice within the build in cabinets on our wall my antique collection of transferware. However, what is this antique piece that we’re going to be exploring today? Transferware is the term given to pottery that has had a pattern applied by transferring the print from a copper plate to a specially sized paper and finally to the pottery body. While produced primarily on earthenware, transfer prints are also found on ironstone, porcelain, and bone china. Today I wanted to share 5 transferware images that inspire me.
If this is your first time checking out a scroll stopper’s blog post of mine, you may be wondering what a scroll stopper is. Each week, I share a set of images that I have been inspired by and have stopped me mid-scroll in hopes that they also inspire you in some way. If you would like to see past week’s scroll stoppers, click here [HERE]. For now, let’s check out some transferware scroll stoppers.
This cozy cabinet shared by @homes_antiques full of antique transferware is so pleasing to look at. One of my favorite things about transferware is how detailed it is and it’s pretty blue color.
@kabinettandkammer is one of my favorite accounts to follow for inspiration and I love this flat lay of transferware that was shared. You can really see the aging and years behind these wonderful antiques.
What a fun gift idea! I love this transferware replica that @michaelchandlerceramics creates and adds a personal touch to your decor.
I love this cozy corner that @thecharminghare shared of her home. The deep wood tones mixed with antique decor is so warming and full of texture.
@cozyvintagelife totally inspired me with this idea to frame a window with transferware around it. The perfect gallery wall for a kitchen and dining space.
