5 Daring Door Scroll Stoppers

Do you remember when open concept floor plans started to trend? I do! Everyone was knocking down walls, making spaces bigger and brighter. I still think this home trend works and is successful in some homes, however, this year we are doing something a little controversial in ours. We are adding more walls and closing up spaces to make them cozier. I will share a little more about this as we start our renovations, but today I wanted to share some daring door images that I’ve been looking at for inspiration.

If this is your first time checking out a scroll stoppers blog post of mine, you may be wondering what a scroll stopper is. Each week, I share a set of images that I have been inspired by and have stopped me mid-scroll in hopes that they also inspire you in some way. If you would like to see past week’s scroll stoppers, click here [HERE]. For now, let’s check out some daring door scroll stoppers.

I love the unique shape of these exterior doors shared by @cotswoldinterior. The stone trim that shapes the doors ties everything together. Also, they are so grand! A daring door set, indeed.

These double doors shared by @ashleymontgomerydesign are really what I am looking at exploring in our home. I love the idea of having the option of keeping them open or shut depending on the day, season, or occasion.

I say this all of the time but it’s truly crazy what a fresh coat of paint can do to a space. This exterior found door and garden shed shared by @leannefordinteriors is a great example. While I haven’t really considered adding a barn-like daring door to the interior of our home (yet…never say never) I can totally see us freshening up one of the buildings on White Cottage Farm like this.

Arches are huge right now in home decor and architecture. The idea of an arched door reminds me of a cozy English cottage straight out of a fairytale. @prospectrefuge studio shared this image of an arched door for a bathroom and I really love how the deep oak pops against the white and green.

I love this narrow pocket door shared by @amberinteriors. The dark color of the door that pops against the texture’s white walls really leaves the door as the focal point of the room. Who said doors can’t have all the attention?

I can’t wait to share more of our renovations and the inspiration that we are using. What do you think of the idea of going back to a closed floor-plan home? I would love to hear on Facebook or Instagram. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and every day!

xx Liz Marie
